Sainsbury’s making their toilets more inclusive

With some relatively simple ideas, that do not cost much Sainsbury’s are helping to ensure that customers feel comfortable when shopping with them by ‘Making our toilets more inclusive.’

Stoma friendly toilets

Over the coming months, all accessible toilets in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide will have a shelf and hook installed. They have worked with Colostomy UK to ensure the designs fit the needs of customers living with a stoma.

Clear signs to support customers with dementia

Finding and exiting toilets can often be confusing for people living with dementia, causing anxiety when they are out and about. Working with the Alzheimer’s Society, they are to install ‘Way Out’ signs in all toilets to clearly mark the exit. This is due to happen in all stores by March 2018.
